INTRODUCTION
Join me for a Venice Photo Workshop next spring. A trip that offers great photo opportunities to exceed all expectations. Venice, located in Northern Italy, is one of the most photogenic cities in the world.
A medieval palace on the Grand Canal, hundreds of streets and labyrinths of canals, gondolas and Alta Aqua. Here you can see the most iconic scenes of Venice’s city photography.
The area around Venice has attracted photographers and artists for many years and it is easy to see why. Venice is a beautiful city and you cannot help but be seduced.
I will take you to one of the best places to shoot a classic Venice cityscape. During the photo tour I will give master classes and you can learn how to process this type of architectural and street photography.
We will organize our photo tour in the heart of Venice, 10 minutes walk from some of the most famous scenes such as San Marco, Doge’s Palace, Ponte Rialto, Ponte del Accademia, Santa Maria della Salute, San Giorgio Maggiore. 118 islands, over 400 bridges, over 150 canals – welcome to Venice.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
HOW TO GET THERE
The best way to get to Venice is by plane. International Airport Marco Polo located near a city. We meet you in Ferry Terminal at 12:00 and drop you in a hotel by water taxi.
If you arrive or depart at a different time or date, you will need to make your own way to the hotel.
WHAT IS THE TEMPERATURE IN VENICE IN MARCH
March 55.4 °F (13 °C) 39.2 °F (4 °C)
Weather in Venice is good for shooting, with mostly sunny days and only a few rainy days as well.
WHAT CLOTHING TO BRING
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Wellingtons
- Warm and weatherproof clothing
I recommend Wellingtons because they keep your feet dry during Aqua Alta.
It’s very windy this time of year, sometimes it rains. Windproof and waterproof clothes are comfortable and necessary.
WHAT CAMERA KIT AND EQUIPMENT TO BRING
- A DSLR or mirrorless camera.
- Wide angle lens 16-35mm medium zoom 24-70mm and longer zoom 70-200mm.
- Wide-angle Tilt-Shift lens 15 or 24mm.
- Tripod.
- A cable release.
- Laptop
We’ll shoot in the dark and take it at high shutter speed. A strong tripod is highly recommended.
The best lens for architectural photography is the wide-angle Tilt-Shift lens. If you have one, I would recommend taking this lens on a photo tour of Venice.
We will shoot in RAW and you will need a laptop with LR, PS or similar.
ITINERARY VENICE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP
Photo Workshop in Venice has a standard seminar schedule, but it is flexible and on which day we visit each one, making sure to visit all the places listed below.
At this time of year, the sun rises after 6:30 and sunset around 18:00.
To practice our night photography, we will start our morning photo session at 6:00. That’s when twilight starts. It’s the best time to shoot. As the sun rises, we’ll take one of the photo spots by the water.
The sunset photo shoot starts at 4:00 pm and continues until 7:00 pm. When it gets dark, we go to dinner and have a rest.
The seminar process will be after breakfast. Usually from 10:00 to 11:30.

SUMMARY
Our goal is to bring you to the most beautiful places in Venice and give you the opportunity to get great images, learn new techniques and gain skills during the workshop.
We will determine your level of photography and what you want to photograph.
Two photo sessions per day mean that participants will be able to see and take photos of as many beautiful places as possible. Shooting medieval architecture in Venice will enrich your portfolio.
Our schedule is very flexible. We’ll be in the middle of all these fantastic places. They are very close to each other, which means we can adapt to the weather and find the best time to shoot.
The image editing process is part of our photo tour. The skills of the participants and their knowledge of post-processing methods vary greatly. But that’s not a problem.
Because we can share our experience with each other and pass it on to novice photographers. In our photo seminar you will learn the basics of editing a RAW file in programs like Lightroom, more advanced methods such as using brightness layers and masks in Photoshop.
Venice is not just beautiful cityscapes and photos. The cuisine is an essential part of any trip to Venice. Meals with friends, story sharing and a bottle of wine are an integral part of our seminars. Architectural monuments, museums will make our trip more diverse and interesting.
We want to make your trip to Venice unforgettable. A trip that, in addition to getting great pictures from amazing places, you can also enjoy great food and great company in a very special place.
