Many photographers visit Lofoten Islands in winter. But summer opens new opportunities for photographers. Midnight Sun is one of them.
In the summer we can shoot from above. There are no high mountains and all of them are available for everyone with standard physical fitness.

Without a doubt, Lofoten is one of the most amazing places to travel and photograph mountains and seascapes. The 3,000-foot mountain rises above numerous small islands connected by bridges.
The famous red fishing huts give interest and beautiful colorful coloring of the coastline. We hope that the northern lights will appear, a little early but everything can be.
This eight-day seminar on the Lofoten Islands is a great opportunity to discover the stunning landscapes of the Lofoten Islands during a color change at the height of the fall season, and if we are lucky we can also see the snow on the peaks.
One of the benefits of visiting the Lofoten Islands at this time of year is twilight. Long evenings with beautiful sunsets.
The day starts around 0-00 am and the sun sets around 23-59 pm. It is a very long day. It is Midnight Sun.
Our choice of accommodation for this workshop is a beautiful built last year three-bedroom “rorbu” overlooking the ocean, large living room and kitchen.
This is a self-catering workshop, although we can dine at a great local restaurant in Ramberg for a couple of evenings, otherwise, there is a supermarket nearby where you can prepare meals at the base.

WHAT IS THE TEMPERATURE IN LOFOTEN IN JULY
Lofoten Islands are located beyond the Arctic Circle, further north than Alaska and Iceland. Usually, in such geographical latitudes, it is freezing, but the Gulf Stream flows along the shores of Lofoten and makes the climate softer bringing heat and moisture along the entire coast of Northern Norway.
In fact, this is an abnormally warm place!
It often rains here.
In summer there is rarely colder than 8 °C. Day temperatures 8 – 16 ° C.
Weather changes quickly. Atmospheric fronts come and go. This weather created really terrific conditions for photo shooting.

In 2017 I wrote a guide for photographers and travelers. This was a fantastic result of my many years of work as a photographer on Lofoten.
I invite you to join our workshop in the Lofoten Islands. Our route is based on my knowledge of these places.
