Venice

«Venice is Moveable Feast»

Google will probably ban my blog for duplicate content if I say Venice is the most romantic city in the world. But to me, Venice is a city of inspiration. I don’t get tired of walking its streets, canals, standing on elegant bridges and admiring the gondolas tourists ride.

This is my favorite city.

When I come to Venice, I always rent an apartment. It gives me a deeper sense of the city’s atmosphere. If you live like a Venetian, if you buy food at the Rialto market, if you cook octopus or shrimp in the kitchen, these are special emotions. You enter the entrance, in the corner on the ground floor there are umbrellas (you can’t imagine Venice without umbrellas), climb the worn staircase, open an ancient wooden entrance door and enter a cozy apartment with wooden shutters on the windows. This is an incomparable pleasure.

Come here for one day? It’s better not to visit Venice at all than to be here for one day only. Many people say we’ve only been to Venice for one day. What do you do there for more days? They’re all the same, we walked around the city, were in San Marco and saw the Doge’s Palace. I feel sorry for these people. They robbed themselves. They stole their impressions of Venice.

I’m inspired by the spirit of the ancient city as an artist. I edit my photos in vintage or monochrome style (see My Nocturne Gallery in Venice). I try to preserve the spirit of the city, its history.

When I get bored, I take a short walk on the sea, my way lies in Burano. Burano, this is mini Venice. It’s a colorful city, the walls of houses are painted in all the colors of the rainbow. I think the citizens of Burano are very positive people.

Be sure to visit Venice and be sure to visit my gallery “Nocturne in Venice”. This is Venice in monochrome mode, Venice without people, the city where time has stopped.

Enjoy a journey together with me  Read more
