«Venice is Moveable Feast»
Perhaps Google will ban my blog for a duplicate of content if I say that Venice is the most romantic city around the world. But for me, Venice is a city of inspiration. I don’t get tired of walking along its streets, along canals, standing on graceful bridges and admiring the gondolas on which tourists ride.
This is my favorite city.
When I come to Venice, I always rent an apartment. This allows me to feel the atmosphere of the city more deeply. If you live as a Venetian, buy food in the Rialto market, prepare octopus or shrimp yourself in the kitchen, these are special emotions. You enter the entrance, in the corner on the first floor there are umbrellas (you cannot imagine Venice without umbrellas), climb the worn-out ladder, and you open the ancient entrance wooden door and you get into a cozy apartment with wooden shutters on the windows. This is an incomparable pleasure.
Come here for one day? It is better not to visit Venice at all than to be here only one day. Many people say we were in Venice one day only. And what is there to do more days? They’re all the same, we strolled through the city, were at San Marco and saw the Doges’ Palace. I feel sorry for these people. They robbed themselves. They stole their impressions of Venice.
I am inspired by the spirit of the ancient city as an artist. I edit my photos in vintage style or in monochrome (see my gallery Nocturne in Venice). I try to save the city’s spirit, its history.
When I get bored, I go on a small tour of the sea, my way lies in Burano. Burano, this is a mini Venice. This is a colorful city, the walls of the houses are painted in all colors of the rainbow. I think Burano citizens are very positive people.
Be sure to visit Venice and, be sure to check out my gallery “Nocturne in Venice”. This is Venice in monochrome, Venice without people, the city in which time has stopped.
