LONELINESS SPACE
Loneliness space is an extraordinary series of works. This series is devoted to my photo travels on Lake Ladoga. But there is not only. This series is my story of how I became a landscape photographer.
LADOGA LAKE
Ladoga lake is the second largest lake in Europe and is located in the north-west of Russia. A few dozen kilometers from Finland.
But not all the lake is equally interesting for landscape photography. Particularly beautiful is the small location of the lake near the town of Lahdenpohja. There is Ladoga Skerries.
The nature of these places is beautiful. The lake is bottomless in the north-west. A vast mass of water creates a unique climate. The lake is always cold. The water warms up only on hot July days, and you can swim here. There is a fog very often. The climate is like Scandinavian. Rains are frequent. The warm sunny days in summer are less than in the Great Land (Big Earth).
Ladoga Skerries is a unique natural landscape. The coastline is not high granite mountains, overgrown with pine and moss. The steep banks formed by deep and narrow labyrinths of bays. They are like the fjords in Norway, but smaller in size. Closer to the center of the lake, there are islands of different sizes. They have more than a few kilometers to the very lowest of several meters. These little islands are called Ludas. They have no vegetation, except mosses and lichens.
There is no tourism infrastructure on The Ladoga Skerries. This secluded place. There are no roads. You can travel by boat or kayak only.
Must have tourist equipment: a tent, a sleeping bag, gas, dishes, and a supply of food for all time of travel.
It is a very meditative place.
LONELINESS SPACE
Everyone has a place of power. A place where you feels good. Where a person meditates and just resting.
Ladoga Skerries have become such a place for me. It happened by accident. Probably, it always so happens. I’m never going to shoot just like that. I am still working on some projects. And I was fascinated by this place when I came here for the first time. I liked the northern nature. These islands, stones, Skerries inspire me. As a result, I began to come here again and again. And one day I realized that Ladoga Skerries became my Loneliness space. Now shooting the northern landscape is my main topic.
