The way to Mount Mannen is not the easiest on the Lofoten Islands, but you should definitely climb this mountain. Haukland Beach is the beginning of the trail and you must follow it to the top of Mannen. This makes climbing one of the easiest and most interesting in the Lofoten Islands.

Round trip: 4 km (round trip)
To top: 400 meters
Hike duration: 1 – 1,5 hours to top
Level: easy/some moderate
Getting there
By car, drive along the E10 to Leknes. It does not matter from what point you are driving you will see a turn to Uttakleiv and Haukland. Take this road and drive to Haukland beach. There is a distance of about 11 km. Before the tunnel on the left side there will be quite a large parking lot. Leave the car here 68.199406, 13.529596.
Trail description
From the parking lot go on foot. You should to cross the road in front of the tunnel and follow the tractor road.
After a couple of hundred meters, you will see trampled grass and traces leading to the mountain. This is the beginning of the trail you will follow, leading to the pass. At the pass, one trail leads to Uttakleiv beach and the second trail leads to the left to Mannen mountain.
The trail is quite slippery and wet in some places.
I used the trekking poles while hiking on the mountain, but I slid several times on the wet road and rocks covered with slippery mud.
