About Haukland beach
Haukland Beach repeatedly has been mentioned as Norway’s most beautiful beach on the Lofoten Archipelago. On Lofoten is a lot of spectacular beaches, Haukland Beach is one of the most beautiful all. There is a reason.
Haukland beach look like the tropical beaches of Seychelles is famous and one of the most beautiful beaches of the Lofoten Islands. There is white sand, clear blue water, mountains around. This beach is a favorite place for locals and tourists because it is a very good place for rest and to start a hike to Mannen, Holandsmelen and several other, more exotic routes.
Lofoten is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for artists and photographers around the world. I wrote this manual to share my Lofoten travel experience with you. I’d be very glad if this book helps and inspires you to create new amazing photos.
Haukland Beach is next to a road which makes this one of the more accessible beaches on Lofoten, hence the at times large crowds during summer months. Even though the water isn’t as warm as on a tropical island, it’s not uncommon to see someone swimming in the Arctic Ocean.
A lot of travelers prefer to stay on the Haukland beach. Every evening here tents are put up tens or maybe hundreds of tourists. But the place is enough for everyone. I cannot understand why everywhere they say that on the beach there is no camping. Here is one of the best places for wild camping in the Lofoten Islands.
There are WC and water. But the water isn’t drinkable. Take water from the falls (hike to Mannen mountain) or bring water with you.
Do not make a campfire on the grass. It’s not very beautiful, but many tourists do it. There are a lot of us. And if each of us will make a campfire, then very soon Haukland beach will turn into ashes. Use barbecue grills.
The beach is beautiful in the wintertime. But tourist crowds are smaller at that time. After the snow, there are not many places more picturesque to enjoy the sunrise.
Haukland beach has located 10 km from Leknes. Before Leknes, look for a turn on Uttakleiv and drive on the road Fv826. In front of the tunnel, you will see a parking lot, a WC and a camping site. Turn left to look for a place for your car. In the evening in the summer, there may be a parking problem. Try to arrive a little earlier and take a more convenient place for the car.
